Located in what once was the residence of magnate Henry Clay Frick is one of the most impressive art museums in New York City, although in proportions not as large as the MoMA or MET, this mansion converted into a museum houses a large collection of Renaissance art.

The Frick Collection has some great works, from drawings, engravings and paintings to bronze sculptures, 17th century silver objects, porcelain and oriental rugs. In addition, inside the museum you will see works by great artists such as El Greco, Rembrandt, Goya, Giovanni Bellini, Turner and many more, the art collection of this mansion is impressive.

Another interesting aspect of the museum are its rooms very well preserved over time, as they are kept in perfect condition thus preserving its splendor and originality. The mansion has had two extensions and one of them provided the museum with a courtyard with columns, glass ceiling, a beautiful fountain and plants, and became one of the most incredible rooms of the museum.

A very interesting fact of the museum is that throughout the mansion is very strange to find paintings of mythological figures, scenes of nudity or war, as the owner Clay Frick did not like and preferred to surround himself with paintings of portraits and landscapes.

This museum is one of New York’s must-see visits!
